Since 1974, Manuel Quesada has been a prominent figure in the world of cigar craftsmanship. Initially renowned for his mild-bodied creations, which often featured a combination of Dominican filler and binder tobaccos swathed in Connecticut-seed wrappers, he has now embarked on a journey towards bolder and more vibrant smoking experiences. One of his most remarkable innovations is the Casa Magna Colorado, a testament to his unwavering dedication to pushing boundaries.
In the pursuit of this new venture, Manuel Quesada collaborated with Nestor Plasencia, Nicaragua’s largest grower of cigar tobacco. Together, they meticulously crafted this blend within the esteemed Segovia Cigar factory, under the guidance of Nestor Plasencia himself.
The Casa Magna Colorado boasts a robust core composed of Cuban-seed tobacco, sourced from two distinct regions in Nicaragua. The tobacco from Estelí, known for its strength, contributes a bold character to the blend. Meanwhile, the tobacco grown in Jalapa, situated to the north, adds a touch of balance and elegance, resulting in a harmonious composition.

Through the harmonious fusion of two carefully selected Nicaraguan leaves, this exquisite blend culminates in a captivating, full-flavored cigar. Embodied within each draw are luscious coffee undertones, delivering a delightful richness. A well-balanced interplay of cedary sweetness, tinged with a subtle essence of raisins, adds a layer of complexity to the smoking experience. Notably, the inclusion of the term “Colorado” in the brand name pays homage to the dark, slightly reddish hue of the wrapper, which further enhances the allure of this exceptional creation.
